Daniel In The Lion's Den

"So the king gave the command, and they brought Daniel and cast him into the den of lions. But the king spoke, saying to Daniel, "Your God, whom you serve continually, He will deliver you." Daniel 6:16

The Teapot Man

Inspired by a scribble whilst on the house phone.

"She extends her hand to the poor,
Yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy.
She is not afraid of snow
for her household,
For all her household is clothed
with scarlet.
She makes tapestry for herself;
Her clothing is fine linen and purple."
Proverbs 31: 20-23

"God closes a door,
only to open a window."
inaccurate quote

Paulo Coelho

"To everything there is a season,
A time for every purpose under heaven:
A time to be born,
And a time to die;
A time to plant,
And a time to pluck what is planted;
A time to kill,
And a time to heal;
A time to break down,
And a time to build up;
A time to weep,
And a time to laugh;
A time to mourn,
And a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones,
And a time to gather stones;
A time to embrace,
And a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to gain,
And a time to lose;
A time to keep,
And a time to throw away;
A time to tear,
And a time to sew;
A time to keep silence,
And a time to speak;
A time to love,
And a time to hate;
A time of war,
And a time of peace."
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

Mi fa male lo Stomaco

More than 20,000 works were
attributable to Australian artist
Arthur Boyd, during his lifetime.
He would complete a canvas as large
as four meters by three meters
in just two days.
"Just do it quicker - the quicker
you draw the more you can draw"
he once said.
Like artists before him Boyd worked
in every space and in every circumstance.
Picasso never had a conventional studio
but created working spaces wherever he went.
This is from an article written by Xenia Hanusiak
in "The Age" newspaper Sat,Jan 17,2009,A2 section.

"ANXIETY IN THE HEART OF MAN
CAUSES DEPRESSION,
BUT A GOOD WORD MAKES IT GLAD."
PROVERBS 12:25

Study in the Sun

I have been away for five days,but I managed this one sketch.

"Bring my soul out of prison,
That I may praise your name;
The righteous shall surround
me,
For You shall deal bountifully with me."

"A great pleasure, is to do
a good action by stealth, and to have it
found out by accident." Charles Lamb
inaccurate quote

"And we know that all things
work together for good to those
who love God, to those who are
the called according to His purpose."

"Nihil est miserum nisi cum putes;
contraque beata sors omnis est
aequanimitate tolerantis."
"Nothing is miserable unless you think
it so; conversely, every lot is happy to
one who is content with it."
Boethius (c. 475-524)

"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?
Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution,
or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
As it is written:
For Your sake we are killed
all day long;
We are accounted as sheep
for the slaughter.

Yet in all these things we are
more than conquerors through
Him who loved us."
Romans 8:35-37

Sea Bazaar

We have two chickens,
Mrs Clucks and Charity Pecksniff.
Mrs Clucks is gentle, patient and quiet,
whereas Charity Pecksniff
is aggressive, impatient and greedy.
Mrs Clucks lays an egg
just about every day
but rarely do we get an egg
from Charity Pecksniff.
"You will know them by their fruits"
Matthew 7:16

"Let the heavens rejoice, and let
the earth be glad;
Let the sea roar and all it's
fullness;
Let the field be joyful, and all that
is in it.
Then all the trees of the woods
will rejoice before the Lord.
For He is coming , for He is
coming to judge the earth.
He shall judge the world with righteousness,
And the peoples with his truth."
Psalm 96:11-13

This Is Hell

I saw a TV presenter talk of the coming Melbourne's Wine and Food Festival saying that it will be more fun than hell down below. Is she crazy or just disillusioned. Hell is a very real and scary place according to scriptures, a place of torment and unbelievable suffering. The good news is that all who believe in Jesus Christ and repent of their sins will be saved. Seek Him and seek the truth!

"The wicked shall be turned into hell,
And all the nations that forget God.
For the needy shall not always be forgotten;
The expectation of the poor shall not perish forever.

Arise, O Lord,
Do not let man prevail;
Let the nations be judged in Your sight.
Put them in fear, O Lord,
That the nations may know
themselves to be but men. Selah
Psalm 9:17-20

The Oriental Cornflour

"Your body, if given rest and good nutrition,
is designed to heal itself of most illnesses."
Joe Dominguez and Vicki Robin, excerpt from
"Your Money or Your Life."

"Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin?
And not one of them falls to the ground
apart from your Father's will.
But the very hairs of your head
are all numbered. Do not fear therefore;
you are of more value than many sparrows.
Matthew.10:29-31
